Opened the restaurant l'Archestrate in 1968 (which was awarded its third Michelin star in 1978) and in 1985 established the Lucas Carton restaurant which is located in the Place de la Madeleine (Paris). It too was awarded three stars. The Lucas Carton became Senderens on September 19th, 2005. Alain Senderens has also written eight books about cooking.
