In 1991, Paul Maruani founded IdVectoR with the aim of creating value from scientific and technological assets. At the end of the 1990s, two paradoxes were emerging: the ‘good management’ of major quoted groups was killing off the most profitable innovation, and it was difficult to finance advanced technology companies in Europe, even during the Internet bubble. IdVectoR then developed a model for long-term bond financing of research, structured with the public authorities and the intervention of numerous backers. After the 2008 crisis, a European secured royalties fund was launched, extending this innovative mechanism to advanced technology SMEs. This specific European model is also deployed through various partnerships. The Technobonds™ are thus aimed at financing disruptive innovations by major groups. IdVectoR received the Tibi label from the French Economy Ministry in April 2024. This meeting of the École de Paris du management provided an opportunity to discuss the management of systemic innovations.
