Choreographer, filmmaker and former principal dancer with the New York City Ballet. An interpreter of Jerôme Robbins and George Balanchine, his choreographies are included in the repertoires of major international companies, from the American Ballet Theater to the Mariinsky Ballet, not forgetting the New York City Ballet and the Opéra national de Paris – where he was Director of Dance between 2014 and 2016. In 2010, he choreographed the award-winning film Black Swan, and in 2012 he co-founded the L.A. Dance Project. In 2022, he made his directorial debut with the film Carmen and has since presented two creations at the Philharmonie. In 2023, he and Solenne du Haÿs Mascré founded the Paris Dance Project. In November 2024, he presented his new creation, Grace - Jeff Buckley dances, at La Seine musicale.
