A graduate of the École polytechnique (class of 1972, first mixed class), she is CEO and founder of Ardian, the European leader and one of the world's leading private equity firms with over $165 billion in assets under management. As early as 2008, she pioneered the practice of sharing the value realized on the sale of a stake, with all employees of that stake and not just with management. She has placed sustainability at the heart of the way Ardian invests and measures the performance of its portfolio companies and General Partners. From 2021, Ardian has contributed to the creation of the world's first and largest fund dedicated to green hydrogen. Dominique Senequier was also instrumental in the creation of the Ardian Foundation in 2010, which aims to promote social mobility and integration for children, young people and entrepreneurs. In 2021, she was made an Officer of the Legion of Honor by French President Emmanuel Macron. In 2023, she was elected to the Institut de France as a member of the Académie des sciences morales et politiques. She is also Vice-Chairwoman of the Hermès Supervisory Board.
