Stage left: an institution, the Ballet of the Paris Opera, with its history, repertoire, know-how, and hierarchical organisation. Stage right: an activity, dance, which needs no words and can only be expressed in action. The management of dance at the Paris Opera lies between these two pillars : supporting projects which only exist in the form of thoughts using ballet as a vehicle ; and breathing new life into classical music by allowing the most modern creators to express themselves. Brigitte Lefèvre considers it above all to be a question of meetings, intuition, and empathy. Its management is the result of a personal journey which is a mixture of excellence and unbounded trust given to the artists.
