Hollywood is an extremely high-performance production machine which is globally successful. It is a fascinating world. When Vivendi Universal bought Universal Studios, Vincent Grimond was sent to Los Angeles to represent the shareholders. He went there with a wish to understand and to learn from the key professionals. One of his tasks was to launch the New Studio which he had tried to create at Canal+. This studio was intended to emphasize local cinematography as opposed to the global 'made in Hollywood' cinema. However, when Grimond arrived, his dream vanished. Instead of finding professionalism, he found people who were not living in the real world. Cinema makes people behave in a bizarre way. He found that the ways in which the Hollywood 'machine' was perpetuated was through fear of taking risks, egoism, the control of power, the constant fear of failure and decline, and money, lots of money. He draws a number of conclusions from his unique experience, especially the conviction that the New Studio does indeed have a place. This is the beginning of another adventure, which will be called Wild Bunch.
