Multimedia is in vogue and nowdays everyone has to surf the Net. However, even though the world of the media has been profoundly changed by the new technology of acquiring information and its dissemination, much remains the same : television has not supplanted the press, radio is still going strong as it approaches its one hundredth birthday, and the new media, as spectacular as they may be, do not appear to be ready to replace their elders.
