When two brothers, who founded a company manufacturing fence posts and panels, handed the business over to two brothers from the next generation, everything seemed to be going just as it should. Despite increasingly difficult operating conditions, a shrinking market and ever more unfair foreign competition, the managerial ingenuity and human touch of the new leaders succeeded in transforming the company into a model of collective performance and resilience. But after twenty years of struggle, the sudden 50 per cent contraction in the market of this sector since the start of the war in Ukraine has made the protection of the Commercial Court essential. Streamlined but saved, the company is now back on track, and its leaders offer their insights into the future of the moderate-value-added industry in France, the unspoken aspects of business succession and the intricacies of the insolvency ecosystem.
