The theatre industry lives with the inevitability of Baumol's Law: costs rise, revenues do not, thus condemning the sector to deficit. Public subsidies are in short supply, sponsorship is a pipe dream, audiences are ageing, digital technology is making other formats more appealing, and some plays can no longer be staged. Is this inevitable? No, because theatre creates value... Unfortunately, much of it is captured by upstream operators, the sales intermediaries. Often perceived as a threat in other contexts, digital transformation can be an opportunity for the sector, if we understand its dynamics. Created by Charlotte Rondelez, BAM Ticket relies on the pooling of players, some cutting-edge digital tools and profiles with a mastery of both the specificities of the theatre sector and the digital economy, to gradually find the different keys that will save the theatre.
