Agility lessons from an emergency specialist

Everyone talks about agility in business, but do we really know what we're talking about? Jean-Claude Gallet worked on developing new doctrines and practices within the Paris fire brigade to make its teams more agile in the face of the unexpected. These new organisational methods proved to be particularly effective during the November 2015 attacks, which were characterised by previously unknown operating methods, and then in the fight against the fire at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, which was also completely out of the ordinary. In his testimony, Jean-Claude Gallet insists on the fact that, beyond theory, it is through regular practical exercises that the necessary discernment is acquired to be able to demonstrate agility wisely. In other words, this means knowing when to disobey the rules and free oneself from procedures.
