In 2001, Gilles and Marie-Odile Cabridain, who were both directors in important companies, decided to take a risk. They created a new company in the building construction sector out of nothing, and during the height of the Internet craze. They were very enthusiastic about the building trade. Both of them were convinced that it was possible to construct better buildings less expensively than the major real estate developers if they were in charge of the entire process of the building operation or renovation, from design to completion and after-sales service. Their first operation was the renovation of an apartment in Paris. After that, their business grew rapidly, and they now construct buildings similar to those sold by major developers, undeterred by the usual, bureaucratic and regulatory nightmares which stifle newcomers to this market, exacerbate the housing shortage, and benefit those already present.
