At the beginning of 2014, the ‘Factory of the Future’ programme for 280 small and medium-sized industrial companies in the Aquitaine region (which today includes the Limousin and Poitou-Charentes regions) was rolled out by François Pellerin. This included making technological, organisational and social diagnoses; analysing industrial performance; constituting dossiers based on specific themes; organising the commercial business; and establishing platforms. This is a long-term project advising companies and helping them move towards the digital, connected factory of the future. It begins very pragmatically by stimulating investment in the organisation of flows and industrial resources in order to generate productivity gains which will gradually pave the way for the factory of the future. However, François Pellerin explains that none these measures are meaningful or efficient unless they are implemented with the aim to put people at the centre of the organisation.
