The first results of calls for proposals to receive funding for European projects in the Horizon 2020 EU Research and Innovation programme for the 2014-2015 period show that the success rates for French projects vary between 2 and 15 % depending on the sort of proposal. Drawing on his experience and the successes of the CEA/LITEN, Bertrand Fillon reminds us of the rules of this application process which has very specific methods, and suggests a few ‘best practices’ which could be used to improve French results.
