Since research can go hand in hand with entrepreneurship‚ the National Association for Research and Technology (ANRT) wants to introduce PhD students – who have an industrial research training agreement (CIFRE) which can be awarded by the ANRT – to the idea of creating a new business by means of an original educational programme. Since 2011‚ in collaboration with the Novancia Business School’s ‘24H chrono de l’entrepreneuriat’ competition, the ANRT sets PhD students benefitting from the CIFRE programme the task of putting together a comprehensive entrepreneurial project in just 24 hours. The students work in groups of six, according to their specialities, and may be helped by experts. The aim is to make these research students draw on their entrepreneurial skills and thereby expand their career choices.
