It is an unnerving experience for the chairman and managing director of a booming company to announce to one’s staff that the share-holders want everything liquidated as fast as possible, and for him to become the liquidator of the company which he created. This is even more worse when one is torn between American standards which are characterised by numbers, and European standards based on a personal approach.
