At the outset, there was no business plan, only the passion and enthusiasm of six architects who came together in Grenoble to form an agency based on a demanding, collective and artisanal approach in architecture. In the euphoria of the 1970s, projects came flooding in, becoming increasingly numerous and substantial. Based on passion and fraternity, a company was built, Groupe-6, which grew to become one of the ten largest French agencies, overcoming the delicate moments of transition. When Denis Bouvier took over the management of an agency that was exceptional in terms of its longevity, its provincial location and its collective model in 2017, he faced two challenges: adapting it to a more constrained construction and public procurement environment, and reconnecting with the spirit, principles and values of the founders' agency, which had been undermined by its success and rapid growth.
