Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) contains many recyclable materials.
Sources of strategic, varied and continually renewed materials, WEEE are real “urban mines”, innovative, available and widespread in our society.
In the current context of depletion of natural resources, the exploitation of these mines, rich in plastic materials and rare metals, is essential to the development of a circular economy that respects the environment and citizens.
Eager to develop new recycling streams from urban WEEE mines, the take-back system Eco-systems has created the chair of research and education Urban Mines, in partnership with ParisTech and three major schools: Arts and Métiers, Chimie ParisTech and Mines ParisTech. The Chair is financed by sponsorship, with the support of the ParisTech Foundation.
