Seminar Economy and meaning | Wednesday January 13, 2016 - 9h00 - 11h30

How does one progress from being enterprising to becoming an entrepreneur? There are many different options: one could be an unemployed person who wants to break out of the vicious circle of not finding a job; a social worker who wants to make his work more efficient; a young university graduate coming from an underprivileged neighbourhood who experiences employment discrimination because of his origins; a single mother who is looking for an activity which is compatible with her family responsibilities; a young, social network genius who is dreaming about creating his own start-up; or simply, a pensioner. These people are not well versed in the seemingly mysterious administrative and financial procedures, and they all need to be helped and financed in order to achieve successfully their projects. France Active is at the crossroads of the corporate world and the social and solidarity-based economy. It has tried to help these people to become less isolated and, since 1988, it offers them support as a result of the expertise of its volunteers and the efficiency of its organisation.
