The Môm’artre association is a local association which offers after-school childcare facilities. It has an educational project centred on art. After a number of years‚ the association’s network grew from the original branch created in 2001 in Paris’ 18th arrondissement. The association opened facilities in other areas in Paris‚ as well as in Nantes‚ Marseille and Arles. Môm’artre welcomes children from 6 to 11 years old, every day after school until 8pm. The children come from a variety of backgrounds and have a snack together, do their homework and take part in artistic projects which are exhibited. They are supervised by volunteers‚ employees‚ and artists who all have a youth work certificate and live in the surrounding area. The association is financed by the city of Paris, the family allowance fund and private donations. It has developed more lucrative activities through time in order to strengthen its economic model but remains very loyal to its service in the interest of the public‚ its social commitment and its taste for experimentation.
